45: Christmas shopping in November means less stress for Jess
It is still only November, but my Christmas shopping has been completed. I couldn’t feel more happy or more productive in my life. This year my sister and family are coming from St. Louis on Dec. 2, so we decided to have Christmas early.
So while I’m not trading gifts with everyone in the family, my husband suggested that I just buy everyone’s presents. And so it was done. I shopped for one day and perused Amazon. Now all the gifts must be wrapped.

I’m thinking that early Christmas is the way to go. Chris put up Christmas decorations early, two weeks before Thanksgiving. He loves his decorations, and our pop culture Christmas tree is particularly amazing. All the ornaments are our favorite cartoon characters, dachshunds and silly references. Most people comment on it when they see it. So why not put it up early.
So it’s only November and I feel like I’ve been celebrating Christmas for a month. One of two things is going to happen. I am going to be sick of Christmas by Dec. 15. Or I’m going to be more productive this December since I’ve already been celebrating.
Either way, getting all the shopping down pre-Black Friday was a good move. I think that this might be a new tradition for my teeny tiny family. Sadie loves walking underneath the Christmas tree too. Mainly because we got her at Christmas and the first time she peed in the house was right under the tree. A Christmas miracle.
Anyway, if I am productive this month, I will write more blogs and hopefully some jokes. Maybe I’ll get my classes planned for next semester. I hope you have a wonderful holiday and I hope your family is tolerable.
