I recently headlined a show in Columbus called the Tickle Me Lucky Charms show at Eldorados Bar. The show was all women, and the drinks and food were amazing. Paul Riccio Jr. was the host and was one of the most gracious bookers I’ve ever worked with.

Beyond a regular comedy show, there were raffles throughout and some special guests. The women who performed were all on point. I remember sitting at the bar before the show and absolutely loving the atmosphere.

The female performers who went ahead of me were fantastic. They had the entire room rolling, which just gave me more and more confidence.

And then it was time for me.

I started off all right. However, the further in I got, the less laughs I got. The less laughs I got, the more nervous and anxious I felt. But when you are getting paid to do a show, you must follow through no matter how painful it might be.

Leaving the stage was a relief. I felt bad not about bombing, but because I was being paid as a headliner, and I feel like I didn’t do my job. I pride myself on being a hard worker. I wrote my set and went over it for weeks. I am especially thankful for Paul Riccio Jr. for being so understanding.

Because bombing happens and it is necessary. I’ve had so many amazing sets the past couple months. Bombing keeps you humble and pushes you to work harder. My next show could go the same way, but I’m going to remain positive.
