12: Summer school is for nerds and me because I'm a nerd
Finally, I have made it to my one week break between semesters when I can sleep in until 8:30 a.m. and only travel to one job. Most days I travel to two jobs, and I don’t realize how much more free time I have when I don’t have that extra drive.

I have spent my break sleeping, reading and cuddling puppies. It will be short-lived though. Summer semester starts Monday, May 14. Luckily, I typically only teach one class in the summer, so I can feel like I actually have a break.
Unfortunately, I was given two classes this summer and both were canceled. The feeling of a class being canceled is two-fold. On one hand, I will not have extra money this summer. On the other hand, I can be a normal person with only one job and do normal people things.
Since both were canceled, I was offered the opportunity to teach an English as a Second Language course. I have never taught a course like this, but I’ve been told I am the perfect person to do it. I am currently planning the class, and I’m lost. I’ll get through it though.

I have been talking with other teachers, but teaching a class I have never taught with only 5 days to prepare is daunting. However, I am up for the challenge. It should be a great experience. Now the final teaching experience I want to obtain is teaching in a prison.
I’m sure I’ll get there. Whether it be as a teacher or a prisoner who teaches hopeless inmates how to conjugate verbs and write topic sentences. It will be called “Verbs are the New Gerunds.” I know that’s dumb, but that’s all I could come up with.
Also, it was my birthday.
