7: The trip to Indy
I haven’t written in a while because of the move. Fortunately, we are pretty much settled in and I have time to do something other than unpack boxes and wonder where in the hell is my clean underwear?
My latest out of town comedy venture was in Indianapolis. I performed at Crackers Comedy Club, which is a great club. As usual, I stayed with my Aunt Marge and Uncle Jim. They only live 4 blocks from the comedy club.

My set was almost perfect, and I really needed the confidence booster. I feel like I am still trying to get back in the groove. I messed up one joke. Instead of saying Robert Wagner, I said Jack Wagner. No one really knows either of those references, so I made fun of myself for being to young to know my own joke.
The rest of the set was amazing. I have learned that if I leave my notes out on the stool to look at, I don’t do as well as when my notes are in my back pocket. If my notes are out, I will look at them. If they are not out, I will not doubt myself. That confidence makes me better on stage.
Best part of my Indy trip? My aunt and uncle making fresh pasta primavera for dinner and eggs and bacon for breakfast. I have the best family ever! Until next time Indy!
