Comedy show to benefit BRAVO in Dayton
Comedy benefit shows are some of the best shows for comedians to perform at and for audiences to enjoy. It’s hard to bomb when everyone is doing this for free for a good cause. I will perform at one Jan. 20 at 8 p.m.
The Stand Up To Violence comedy show will benefit the Buckeye Region Anti-Violence Organization (BRAVO). It’s at MJ’s on Jefferson, which is an amazing club.
My friend and comedian Lee Mays asked me to be a part of this show. He came up with and organized this whole event.

“I did a comedy fundraiser for the Greater Dayton LGBT Center last year. My girlfriend is friends with a representative from BRAVO and she told him about it. One thing led to another, and they are very excited about a comedy show that benefits BRAVO,” Mays said.
So what does BRAVO do?
BRAVO works to eliminate violence perpetrated on the basis of sexual orientation and/or gender identification, domestic violence, and sexual assault through prevention, education, advocacy, violence documentation, and survivor services, both within and on behalf of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender communities.
“The point of the show is to raise awareness about the violence against the LGBT community,” Mays said.
There will be performances by Lori Graves, Lee Mays, Jessica Graue, Michael Moore, Bobbie Jo Stevens, and hosted by Holly Shock. Donations will be accepted at the door.
MJ’s is located at 20 N. Jefferson St. in Dayton.
