43: Here's the lowdown for October
My semester has been crazy busy. It’s the first real semester back after COVID, so a lot of students and professors are a little shell-shocked. Getting into a groove has been difficult, but it’s week 6 and I think we finally found it!
Here are a few updates on a couple of fronts.
Dayton Daily News: I’m still working on the weekends and writing during the week. Last month I wrote six stories. I was able to interview Lewis Black and Cathy Guisewite, who is the creator of the Cathy comic strip.
School: I am teaching three classes this semester. Things at the Clarion are looking up. We will be getting podcasting equipment soon and will have a new printed magazine out on Oct. 14.
Volleyball: I started volleyball again. I’m bruised and scraped up, but I’m loving it. I am actually a lot stronger than I was last time I played, so my hitting has really improved.
>>>>SHOWS: I’m super excited about my October shows
Comedy: I’ve been doing lots of shows. I have three this month. I feel like I am starting to remember what it was like to do comedy pre-COVID. It’s taken me a while to re-find my love for the art, but I think I have.
Family: All still alive, including all of our puppies.
Lastly, as you can see, I’ve been blogging a lot more. I feel like doing all my feature writing is forcing me to write more for myself.
