23: From spring to summer
Summer semester is here signalling that I have made it through my first successful semester at my new job at Sinclair Community College. I absolutely love it and will work here FOREVER. I look forward to summer semester, but not the summer weather.
>>>>SHOWS: I will be performing like crazy in May
Here are a few highlights from my spring semester:
I attended many events to recruit journalism students. It’s very difficult.
I had my first snow days as a faculty member.
I attended my first commencement as a faculty member.
I met so many people that I can’t remember hardly any of them.
I went to retirement parties for people I worked with for four months.
Here is what I am looking forward to in summer semester:
I am taking a yoga class. I hope I can relax.
I am trying to start a podcast at the Clarion.
I am updating everything at the Clarion, so it is more representative of the digitally-focused journalism industry.
I am teaching COM 2206, which is Interpersonal Communication, for the first time.
I am teaching JOU 2101, which is Intro to Journalism, for the first time with only 6 students. It should be fun!
Here’s to a great rest of summer. While I won’t be going on my usual Belterra family trip, I will have some mini-trips there with friends.
